🧵 Our Beekeeper TOG RatingsUpdated 3 months ago

🐝 What is a TOG and Why Does It Matter?

TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade—a standardized measure of how warm a fabric is. For babies, TOG ratings help guide you in choosing the right wearable blanket based on your home’s temperature and your little bee’s needs.

🌡️ Why TOG Matters for Babies

The right TOG helps ensure your baby stays comfortably warm—not too hot or too cold—throughout the night. Since babies can’t regulate their body temperature the same way adults can, choosing the appropriate TOG based on the room temperature can help keep them comfortable while they sleep.

🧵 Our Beekeeper TOG Ratings

We currently offer two types of Beekeeper wearable blankets:

  • Lightweight Beekeeper: TOG 0.5
Best for warmer room temperatures or layering with lighter sleepwear.

  • Quilted/Medium-Weight Beekeeper: TOG 1.5
Provides more warmth—great for cooler rooms or colder months.

✨ A Few Tips:

  • TOG doesn’t account for what your baby is wearing underneath—consider overall layering.

  • Always check your baby’s neck and back to make sure they’re not too warm or too cold.

  • Choose the right weight based on your baby’s comfort and your home’s temperature.

*weight refers to the thickness/warmth not the physical pounds/ounces
